About

Ty Prod has been composing, producing, mixing, mastering, and releasing independent music in his home made studio since 2019. The name "Ty Prod" is derived from his middle name Ty and Prod is short for Productions. Ty chose this name in order to maintain his heritage within his persona and to emphasize that he is an Audio Engineer and Producer. Ty has been playing the guitar since 2013 at the age of fourteen. At a young age he had ambitions of improving his skills as a guitarist, forming a Rock/Metal band, and pursuing music. Throughout his journey he maintained his love for music, continued to improve in his craft, and knowledge of music culture. As he grew in age he discovered his love for many different genres of music such as Electronic, HipHop, RAP, Trap, Lofi, Drum/Bass, Chillwave, and BoomBap beats. In late 2018 Ty decided to download Apple's application and DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) Logic Pro X. Located in Rochester, NY he was determined to teach himself how to create HipHop and Rap beats with MIDI. Over time he realized he had very strong ears and that he was able manipulate and synthesize sound waves into fruition. In August, 2020 Ty decided to create an artist persona named Talaria and released an album called Mercury which consisted of 18 unmastered electronic tracks to all steaming platforms. His song Purgatory off his album Mercury gathered around 20k Spotify streams by the end of the year. Throughout the year of 2020 Ty was also experimenting with guitar tones on Logic Pro x. Determined to make his teenage rock star dreams come true he composed an Instrumental Industrial Rock EP with elements of Post Rock/Punk/Metal, Shoe Gaze, Stoner Rock/Metal, and Psychedelic Rock/Metal. The EP was titled Eleusinian Mysteries and took inspiration from the Greek Myths of Hades and Persephone. Talaria released the EP December 6th, 2020. Under the name Talaria he was faced with horrible news on January 1st, 2021 when his distributor falsely accused him of streaming fraud, withheld his royalties, and removed his entire catalog claiming Purgatory didn't have legitimate streams. Determined to continue his music career he quickly cut all ties with his distributor and sent his music to another distributor in order to re-upload his catalog and continue his journey. Throughout 2021 Ty tirelessly continued to improve his sound and craft. Torn between many genres of music he had internal conflict between whether to pursue Rock or Electronic music. He decided to create another artist name Ty Prod. Mercury was uploaded to Ty Prod's catalog while Eleusinian Mysteries remained on Talaria's. Ty began to release another Industrial Rock EP for Talaria in March, 2021 titled Valkyries taking inspiration from Norse Myths. Feeling more motivated than ever he then created and released an album for Talaria on September 5th, 2021 titled Arthurian Legend taking inspiration from the Arthurian Myths. Ty felt that he portrayed his Rocker persona Talaria adequately and decided to dive back into his work for his other persona Ty Prod. Talaria's music was difficult for him to market due to the decline in innovative Rock music. Feeling frustrated with the music industry he turned to abstract painting as a therapeutic creative hobby to help him get his mind off of his struggles of finding recognition as a musician. He quickly realized that he had a talent for abstract painting. With his new found love for painting he decided to research famous abstract painters. He then discovered Jackson Pollock's revolutionary style of abstract expressionism and took inspiration from the legendary artist. Ty Found comfort in the creative process of abstract painting and decided to pursue the hobby as a more comforting creative outlet. After experimenting with his new skill for abstract painting he decided it was time to shift his focus back towards his music career and to take it more seriously. He remixed and mastered his album Mercury for his persona Ty Prod. Purgatory was his best track and had the most potential so he felt that it was his best shot at getting noticed by the right audience. Ty released his album titled Mercury II on October 7th, 2021 which featured his best tracks from Mercury and new tracks he had been working on. Ty put all his attention into promoting Mercury II via social media. Throughout 2022 Ty set all his goals towards getting Ty Prod noticed within the music industry. By June, 2022 he had a total of 200k streams for Ty Prod. Feeling extremely motivated by his success so far he decided it was time to unveil his album Intergalactic War Criminal. He released Intergalactic War Criminal on November 2nd, 2022. In total Ty Prod had 500k Spotify streams throughout his entire catalog and ended up with 20k monthly listeners. Unfortunately on December 1st, 2022 Ty received bad news from his distributor again claiming he has been committing streaming fraud. They provided him with no evidence to this claim and removed his entire catalog for Ty Prod along with withholding any remaining royalties that have yet to be paid out. Devastated by the news Ty decided once again to cut all ties with his distributor and streaming platforms due to their negligence and lack of care for indie artists within the industry. Ty Prod decided to go back to SoundCloud only in 2023 and will remain there until he can find a legitimate label or distributor that will conduct business honestly and with integrity. Now Ty Prod is working on his next album for 2024, and has found comfort in his love for abstract painting, and expressionism. Ty plans on taking on the music industry still while also pursuing a career as an abstract painter. He believes that he can have success within the music and art industry as a whole. Ty will always advocate for The Arts and believes that one day he can make an impact in the art world, gain enough influence to help better, and change the entertainment industry to be more welcoming to talented artists and creatives.
